Marcel Mokbel - Solo Acoustic Guitar
Marcel Mokbel is a solo acoustic guitarist from Germany.
Born in 1991, he started playing the acoustic guitar at the age of 14, learning all by himself.
After a period of learing basics, he came across fingerstyle music and started writing his own stuff.
First videos were uploaded on YouTube in late 2008, followed by videos (with more than 500.000 views in sum), live concerts and his first solo CD "Close Your Eyes", published in May 2012.
Marcel is the first german musician to be featured on the YouTube channel of the canadian label Candyrat Records with his tune "How It Hurts".
Don't know which music to play because your friends/family have different personal taste? Marcel's music suits all ages. His tunes are guided by catchy melodies and groovy rhythms. The combination of fingerstyle, slapping, percussions and emotion leads to a new sound, stirring the audience.
Enjoy a symbiosis of pop, rock, funk, and soul with elements of lounge music and the sounds of movie soundtracks.

Marcel's guitar is a custom Furch G25-CC. It has a cedar top and cocobolo back and sides. An additional signature was added to the 12th fret inlay. more information at furch.cz.
Marcel currently uses Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze Medium Strings. Normally, his guitars are tuned one whole step lower, which makes it necessary to use higher gauges.
Pickups are a complex topic. Currently, Marcel uses the K&K Trinity System consisting of a 3-kontakt transducer and a condenser microphone.
